APBI using multi-catheter brachytherapy is currently the only method of breast irradiation with a treatment duration of merely 4–5 days with level 1 evidence showing it to be a valid treatment alternative to WBI after breast conserving surgery (BCS) for low-risk breast cancer patients used in clinical routine.1
Studies continue into the use of brachytherapy to further reduce the number of fractions treated for APBI.2
We invite you to a presentation with Dr. Yaw Chin, Radiation Oncologist at The St George Cancer Care Centre at St George Hospital in Australia. Dr Chin will discuss a prospective, single arm, phase II non-inferiority clinical trial to investigate:
- if a three dose schedule of partial breast radiation using multi-catheter interstitial brachytherapy is feasible and comparable to a ten dose schedule in terms of the risk of tumor returning in the same breast.
- potential treatment-related side effects.
- cosmetic outcomes.3
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the 3 fraction APBI brachytherapy.
